“Directing Debut! Whilst working as a freelance editor in the middle east in 2009, two separate family members were murdered senselessly in Iraq, which inspired my debut Short film. I felt a sense of pride to cast from real-life refugees based in Jordanian camps who shared similar stories. I faced so many Iraqi doctors, professors, teachers, and children during the casting. Sadly this was the only work they were allowed to take on. I was grateful for their support towards me as we shared the same mother tongue from Baghdad; this was my most humbling directing moment... Yet.”
